Terms and Conditions

Note: the words “we”, “our” and “us” in this “Terms and Conditions” document relate to Richard Stringer Photography and employees. The word “you” relates to the user of the site.

Richard’s images are printed with total attention to quality in accordance with his techniques that have evolved over many years. Each is printed on cotton museum/archival grade white fine art paper. The printer used is a digital pigment printer using K3 Ultrachrome inks.

Images are digitally printed. They are either scanned from photographic film or direct from digital camera files. Original film sizes are mostly 5 inches x 4 inches (12.5cm x 10 cm), but can be as large as 10 inches x 8 inches (25cm x 20cm) or from 120 roll film, usually 6cm x 6cm. Care is taken to ensure that what you see on the web site represents the digital print you receive. The colour you see on your computer monitor may differ slightly from the colour in the print you receive, due to colour differences in computer monitors. The Richard Stringer watermark is of course removed in the print that you receive.

All prints are on a minimum weight of 250gsm archival grade matte paper. Papers used are from Canson or Hahnemule. Most prints are available on A2, A3 and A4 size paper.

Border sizes are designed to allow sufficient purchase for removal mounting within a window matte. On A2, they are a minimum of 4 centimetres (1.6 inches). On A3 and A4, the size is a minimum of 2.5 centimetres (1 inch). Bottom borders are wider than the top. Final border sizes depend on the proportion of the image. Most images are printed with a feathered edge.

The title, reference number and date of the photograph are included under the image on the left hand side. On the right hand side appear Richard’s name and the current year of printing.

Two types of digital prints can be purchased from this web site.

1) Standard prints. These prints are quality assured by Richard. They are printed and dispatched within 5 business days and are subject to Australia Post domestic or international posting times.

2) Hand signed prints: These prints are as above, but include a signature by Richard Stringer, underneath the image on the right hand side. Each print is signed after the order is received. The signature is in pencil as it is acid free and does not fade. Small delays in obtaining this signature may be unavoidable but we will do our best to fulfil the order as soon as possible. For an estimate of the time for dispatch of these hand signed prints please contact us.

There are many different options available to purchase Richard’s photographs such as canvas prints, larger paper sizes or other images that are part of his extensive archive that are not shown on this website. Please contact us if you would like to find out more about any custom orders.

We also happily take orders over the phone or email.

Hand signed prints cost more than standard prints.

Prices shown for every print do not include shipping (except for purchases made with gift vouchers – see below). Shipping charges will be automatically added to your total once the shipping details have been completed during the checkout process.

Gift vouchers

Prints purchased with gift vouchers have the shipping cost included in the base price rather than at the end of the checkout process. Hence, the BASE prices for prints purchased with gift vouchers are slightly higher than for prints purchased without a gift voucher (where the shipping cost is added later in the checkout process on top of the base price). However, a single print ends up costing the SAME TOTAL PRICE if it is purchased with or without a gift voucher – shipping costs are just added at different times of the purchasing process.
Gift vouchers can only be redeemed for purchases within Australia – please email us if you would like an international gift voucher.
If you would like to purchase more prints than your gift voucher covers, please email us and we will take away the shipping cost for you.

All Australian orders do not incur the Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST). Richard Stringer Photography is not required to be registered for GST.

International orders will also not incur GST. If you are purchasing from a country other than Australia, it is your responsibility to pay any taxes and duties that may apply in your country. Should you fail to pay these relevant import duties and taxes to the freight company on request, then we will charge any unpaid duties, taxes and charges to your credit card account.

Standard prints will be dispatched by Richard Stringer Photography within 5 business days.

The dispatch time for hand signed prints is subject to Richard’s availability, as these photographs are only printed and signed after your order is received. When Richard is available, the order will be dispatched with the same timeframe as the standard prints (5 business days). It is important you contact us prior to purchasing hand signed prints so you are aware of the turnaround time for these.

Utmost care is taken to minimise the possibility of damage to your prints when they are posted to you. Each order is typically placed in archival paper and the prints are packaged within a sturdy document tube which is 15 centimetres in diameter.

All orders are posted with Australia post. Orders within Australia should be received within standard Australia post parcel processing times. International orders will be subject to international parcel processing times. Airmail is used for international orders where available.

Please ensure you enter the correct delivery address as goods which are returned to us as undeliverable will incur a re-dispatch fee. Freight charges paid for the original dispatch are not refundable.

Once an order has been produced and shipped - cancellations will incur a fee of up to 100% of payments made.

To maintain the archival quality of the print, it is imperative that the print is not stored in the document tube. It is best for the print to be laid flat in proper archival conditions. Framing is one of the best ways to ensure the intended longevity of your print. Handling and framing guidelines are included in the package with your print.

We endeavour to provide our high calibre prints to you. However, if you are in any way unhappy with your print, you can return it within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. All returned prints must be sent in their document tube and enclosed in the archival paper as provided upon initial delivery. The print must be returned in its original condition, with no creases on the photographic paper etc. It is the responsibility of the customer to pay for the cost of the return postage. Richard Stringer photography will refund the cost of the print once the return order is received.

The print is packaged to minimise the possibility of any damage during transit. If your print is damaged in transit, please notify Richard Stringer Photography immediately. Please then return the print in its original packaging, and a replacement print will be mailed as soon as possible. The customer will initially pay for the cost of the return package, which will be refunded after Richard Stringer Photography receives the damaged order.
